Welcome to Alessandro's Ristorante &Galleria
"The Best Of Everything"
In Downtown Salem, Oregon

When Alessandro Fasani, armed with his mother’s recipes, opened the doors of his restaurant March 1, 1976, he began a Salem tradition of fine dining that has only improved with time.

In a recent “Best-of-the-Mid Valley readers poll released at the end of April by the Statesman Journal, Alessandro’s was voted No. 1 for Business Lunch, Best Art Gallery, Best Creative Cocktails, Best place to taste and buy wine, Best place to propose marriage, and either first, second or third for romantic atmosphere, seafood, steaks, Italian cuisine, appetizers, and desserts.

We were even voted the best place in the Mid-Valley to buy a Margarita in a city that has incredible Mexican restaurants. That’s why we now proudly say Alessandro’s has the “Best of Everything.”  And service is No. 1.

Many of the same outstanding culinary delights Mr. Fasani transported from Rome to West Salem, then briefly to Pringle Park Plaza, and finally to the current Downtown Salem location at 120 Commercial Street NE, have survived unchanged.

They are now prepared by General Manager and Executive Chef Mickael Azizi, who assisted the late Alessandro Fasani for more than 12 years. He does so at the behest of owner Roger Yost, the Salem Civic Leader who purchased the restaurant from Mr. Fasani's widow, Jane, in 2006.

Although remaining true to its gastronomic roots, Alessandro’s has undergone some exciting changes under the new owner. Fresh Northwest cuisine has been added to the daily menu. There is entertainment every weekend. The wine list has been expanded to include not only the best Northwest and Napa varietals, but a tantalizing array of Italian whites and reds.

The desserts—including Tiramisu, Crème Brulee, Chocolate Tortes, and Orange Marsala Cheesecake—among others, are works of art from one of the most honored pastry chefs in Oregon.

But exquisite meals and distinguished wines are only part of the magic being served up at Alessandro’s. Owner Yost now surrounds his guests with world-class art in a Galleria setting that rivals any contemporary gallery in the Northwest.

And all of the 150-plus works collected by Yost are for sale

The art includes original oils or limited edition giclee prints on canvas from the palettes of Andrew (Artroshenko), Avantandil (Makharoblidze), Craig Bone, Raymond Campbell, Andrej Chernysh, Brian Davis, Guy Dessapt, Leah Devora, Paul Guy Gantner, Michael and Illessa Garmash, Marilyn Krug, Georgy Kurasov, Taras Loboda, Petras Lukosius, Emanuel Mattini, Gerhard Nesvadba, David O'Keefe, Tina Palmer, S.
