Sophie Sirot was born in Paris in 1950. She studied graphic arts at a very
famous school in Paris. Her youth was spent in Africa, and in 1974 she came
back to France, dividing her time between Paris and Belle-Ile in Brittany.
From 1977 through 1988 her work was exhibited in Paris and New York City at Gallery
Naifs et Primitifs. In addition, her work is on exhibit in other galleries in
Paris, Brussels, Washington DC and exclusively in the American west at the New
Galleries at Alessandro’s in Salem.
Widely published, her work can be seen in many art books, including her monographie
named "De Belle île et D'Ailleurs." Five Aubusson tapestries
have been created based on her paintings.
